The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. The ASPCA’s mission, as stated by founder Henry Bergh in 1866, is “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.”
It’s hard not to think about water today. In the western world, we face growing concerns about our stewardship of the world’s most precious resource. 1 in 10 people in our world, that’s 663 million people, doesn’t have access to the most basic of human needs.
We’re not offering grand solutions and billion-dollar schemes, but instead, simple things that work. Things like freshwater wells, rainwater catchments and sand filters. For about $30 a person, we know how to help millions.
One Tree Planted works with amazing reforestation organizations around the world that need financial support to help them get more trees in the ground. Started in 2014, One Tree Planted’s mission to make it simple for people to help the environment. One dollar, one tree.
We plant trees in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa. Most of our projects help with restoration from forest fires and floods, as well as creating jobs, building communities, and protecting habitat for biodiversity. Depending on the project, our partners choose the best tree species to plant and work with local communities to get them in the ground.
